Everything Takes Time, Frequency, and Intensity

When it comes to the care we chiropractors at Performance Family Chiropractic provide, our patients come to understand that it took time for their spinal conditions to develop—and it takes time for them to be corrected and heal. During that process, a specific frequency of visits is needed: first to relieve pain, then to correct function, and finally to strengthen the body so the problem doesn’t return.
The intensity required to correct and strengthen your body comes from the strengthening and posture exercises we prescribe for long-lasting results.
At Performance Family Chiropractic, we often use this analogy: chiropractic adjustments for your spine are like braces used to correct crooked teeth, and the exercises we give you are like the retainer that helps keep those teeth straight. If you don’t do your exercises, we end up needing to do more adjustments—just like braces!
It is not our goal to make patients dependent on chiropractic adjustments. Our goal is to educate patients on the value of occasional spinal maintenance adjustments—done when it’s convenient for you and at an infrequent rate, much like getting your teeth cleaned. Following the proper postural exercises that we teach will help you need fewer chiropractic adjustments in the future. And that makes us happy!
Like the illustration below shows, our goal may be to restore the normal curve to your spine—and that takes Time, Frequency, and Intensity!
