An Oil Change for your Spine

Could you drive one car for the rest of your life?

Needless to say, if you attempted to drive one car for the rest of your life, it would require a lot of maintenance to prevent a breakdown on the side of the road. Unfortunately, we only get one body and it can break down too. When it comes to staying mobile and living the life that you would like, having a healthy body and spine is very important.

It does not matter if you are a stay at home parent or a professional rock climber. Your spine is very important to you. At this point in history, there is no such thing as a spine transplant and surgical interventions offered currently only focus on stabilizing the spine and do not always offer pain reduction or preservation of quality of life. Surgery and medication are very important tools to have access to, but we hope for all of our patients that they can be avoided if possible.

It was once taught to doctors in school that spinal pain is self limiting and will go away on its own. We now know with more research that this is not true. Someone who has one spinal pain episode is more likely to have neck or back pain in the future.

Getting chiropractic adjustments can help keep the body healthy and the spine moving more freely, which can reduce future episodes of pain. We don't want your body to have a breakdown at the least opportune moment.

In our office, we treat various different injuries to the spine and extremities, but we also do maintenance chiropractic care. Don’t hesitate to ask if this may be something you should consider. In general, we have found that patients who get adjusted for maintenance care have less appointments than someone who waits for pain to return. And we are more than happy to treat you when symptoms become severe, but we also hate seeing you in pain. We would rather see you on your terms, not on the terms of your returned pain.

We understand that these can be unsure times and that everyone is taking precautions to keep themselves and their families safe. We want everyone to feel safe when they are in our office. But, we also want to stress the importance of spinal health and how important it is to prevent injuries and possible degenerative changes in the spine, which could also affect your way of life.

Thank you so much for letting us be a part of your lives. We value the trust that you put in us.

Sincerely,

Dr. Justin Gianni DC
