Continuing the countdown!!! #9

Many patients like to joke about getting a “pop” from their chiropractor — and while many chiropractors will joke back, deep down we know (or at least hope) we’re doing more than just cracking knuckles. This perception often comes from the brief encounters many patients have had with their chiropractors. In many cases, a quick adjustment can still be beneficial, but there’s often much more that can be done to help with their condition.

A key component of any effective hands-on chiropractic treatment is proper soft tissue manipulation, stretching, or warm-up — often performed by the chiropractor. These techniques help mobilize the muscles, making the adjustment easier to tolerate, more effective, and longer lasting. Of course, if you’re dealing with an extremity issue, working on the surrounding tissues — such as those around the shoulder or knee — is just as important.

Unfortunately, many chiropractors are forced into short appointment times to keep their practices profitable (yes, insurance issues). This often limits their ability to provide thorough, well-rounded care. At Performance Family Chiropractic, we go above and beyond to spend the time necessary with each patient, ensuring that every treatment includes this vital hands-on component.
